SDX

SDX

The SDX is a breathing control system for Radiotherapy allowing a reproducible position of the tumour from imaging until the last session of treatment. Thanks to this performance, the irradiation of healthy tissues and contiguous organs can be reduced.

Ergonomic and equipped with intuitive software, the SDX is easily handled by the Radiotherapy team.

The SDX is used routinely by more than 60 European Radiotherapy centers.

SDX is a Spirometry system comprising the spirometer located in the imaging or treatment room, and its software installed on a dedicated PC located in the control room.

A USB connection carries the information and provides the energy needed to supply the electronic card on the spirometer.

The spirometer is connected to the patient via a patient circuit circuit patient comprising a mouthpiece ensuring a 100% leak-proof connection between man and machine; a nose clip is required to prevent any nasal leakage. For hygiene purposes, an antibacterial filter is inserted between the mouthpiece and the spirometry sensor (pneumotachograph). This pneumotachograph is set to 32°C in order to prevent condensation.

In the voluntary breath hold technique, the patient is provided with video glasses or remote screen to allow him/her to independently monitor his/her breathing pattern and reproduce the effective breath hold level.

SDX comprises 5 main modules:

  • Patient circuit circuit patient with flow sensor
  • Calibration syringe
  • Cradle and flexible support for the patient circuit and connecting cables
  • CD ROM containing software installed on a dedicated PC with a screen
  • An optional synchronisation box
